NTEU CHAPTER 228
NTEU CHAPTER 228

NTEU is making its presence felt in both the House and the Senate this week! Members from across the country and throughout government have gathered in the nation’s capital for NTEU’s Legislative Conference, where they are actively advocating for our agenda. It’s inspiring to see such dedicated individuals working together to represent our interests and push for positive changes. This event was a great opportunity for our voices to be heard on important issues affecting us all.
Federal employees had the invaluable opportunity to meet with their state representatives, engaging in meaningful discussions about some of the most pressing and complex issues confronting both our country and our workforce. During these conversations, representatives assured us that they remain committed to fighting for the protection of federal employees’ jobs, rights, and the vital work they carry out for the American people.
While federal workers serve as the backbone of our government and provide essential services to families nationwide, it’s clear that this administration continues to undermine their dedication and contributions. Despite these tactics, federal employees have demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability, becoming even more effective, successful, and strong. Thanks to their unwavering commitment, our country continues to operate smoothly, even as Americans face significant economic challenges.
The enthusiasm and dedication demonstrated by Federal Employees at the National Treasury Employees Union Legislative Conference were truly extraordinary. Their passion for the issues at hand and their commitment to making a meaningful impact created an atmosphere that was both inspiring and motivating. It was clear that everyone involved was deeply invested in advancing their goals and advocating for positive change, making the entire experience unforgettable.
I am proud of the collective strength and perseverance displayed at the conference, and it’s reassuring to know that our representatives continue to advocate for the hardworking individuals who keep our government running.
Call on Congress and the administration to do their jobs: negotiate a bipartisan deal to fund the government, ensuring that services continue and taxpayer dollars are not wasted by a shutdown that serves no one.
Federal employees would receive an average 4.1 percent pay increase next year under legislation introduced today and endorsed by NTEU.
The Federal Adjustment of Income Rates (FAIR) Act, sponsored by Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) and Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA), would provide a 3.1 percent across-the-board increase plus an average 1 percent for locality pay.
About 85 percent of all federal employees live and work outside the Washington, D.C., region, so a raise will improve federal paychecks and boost the economy in every city and state across the country.
Watch for an NTEU legislative action alert that you, your friends, and family members can use to advocate for a fair pay raise for all federal employees in 2027.
Take Action! Urge your members of Congress to support a fair pay raise for all federal employees, and encourage your family and friends to do the same.
